Residence Hall Director, Housing and Residence Life

Professional live-in position available July 1, 2013, with typically a four-year limit of service as a residence hall director at Ball State University.  

Responsibilities:  manage two residence halls housing approximately 400 students; supervise, select, and train six to eight resident assistants, graduate student, and desk staff; develop educational and social programs; advise hall council; discipline; provide counseling; coordinate administrative and facilities operations; create and maintain an environment for student learning and development and involvement in leadership of departmental planning committees.  

Minimum qualifications:  master’s degree by September 1, 2013; residence hall administration experience; must be available to begin work on July 1, 2013.  

Preferred qualification: master’s degree in discipline represented with student affairs administration.  

Salary package includes $30,000/12 months, professional development funds as approved by the university, university benefits package, furnished two-bedroom apartment, and meal plan while school is in session.
