Each year, the Office of the Vice President for Enrollment, Marketing, and Communications aggregates enrollment information for on- and off-campus students including undergraduate, graduate, international, and study abroad. The 2009-10 Fact Book describes the student body with respect to gender, age, and ethnicity. The report shows that 1) women made up well over half of the student body and 2) the proportion of students of color on campus has increased steadily from 9.5% to 11% over the past five academic years.
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) provides data on full-time faculty. In the fall of 2009, approximately 20% of faculty selected African American, American Indian, Asian/Pacific Islander, Hispanic, or other as their race and more than 43% were women. The official statistics section for OIE provides additional diversity-related data.
Data concerning other aspects of diversity such as sexual orientation or religious affiliation are rarely collected in a systematic fashion on university campuses and are not currently available.
