Webmail Gateway

Information Technology (IT) has upgraded Ball State's e-mail system to Microsoft Exchange Online as part of Office 365 in the cloud.  To log into your upgraded account, click LOGIN to BSU OFFICE 365 Webmail.

For more additional information about the e-mail upgrade and to find answers to frequently asked questions, visit www.bsu.edu/helpdesk.

Students

To conserve paper, save resources, and shorten the amount of time you would wait for a message via regular mail, the university sends official communications to all Ball State e-mail addresses. When you arrive on campus, you receive a Ball State e-mail address. This address will receive notices about schedules, grade results, billing information, emergency alerts, important deadlines and all other official university information. It is your responsibility to read and manage this e-mail (PDF). You may use this address for personal mail, but you may also want to create a second e-mail account to keep “personal communications” separate. Your Ball State e-mail account will be used while you are a student at Ball State, but will go away once you leave the university.  Visit www.bsu.edu/communication to learn more about what you need to do to ensure that you receive the information you need and to make the most of your Ball State experience.

To take advantage of more space and additional features, create a new Google Apps or Live@edu account to use for your personal e-mail service. As long as you continue to use it, a Google Apps or Live@edu account will stay active, even after you leave Ball State.  Read more about your options or view TechClips to get started.

Employees

Microsoft Outlook and Entourage X (Mac) are the supported e-mail programs at Ball State. Employees may choose to use Outlook or Entourage applications and Outlook Webmail (OWA) to access their campus e-mail and calendar. Read more about your options or view TechClips  to get started.

Alumni

Stay in touch with a custom Ball State lifetime e-mail address, username@ballstate.bsu.edu, which includes 250 MB inbox, 10 MB attachments, and all of the benefits, reliability, and protection of the world's largest Web-based e-mail service. If you have a Ball State lifetime e-mail address, select Login to Alumni iConnect from the navigation menu on the right.

Important: Never give out your password or other personal information for any reason! We will never ask. Read more about protecting your identity and password security.
