Unified Communications provides the data, voice, and video network connectivity for individual devices (desktops, laptops, phones, printers, faxes, etc.). Individual or departmental equipment such as, but not limited to, routers, switches, hubs, access points (APs), DHCP servers, and DNS servers, present security and performance concerns and are not compatible with safe, secure, and functional access to services. Therefore, these devices are not permitted on the campus network without the written consent of an Asst. Dir. of Unified Communications. When an unpermitted device is detected or reported to Information Technology Services (ITS), action will be taken to isolate the device and then ITS will work with the individual or department to eliminate any underlying issue.
