Lisa’s career has revolved around her passion for finding and telling great stories, having spent nearly two decades as an award-winning reporter and visual journalist for newspapers across the Midwest, including The Indianapolis Star. That zeal for storytelling continued after she left professional journalism to head up the marketing and communications efforts for a private high school in Indianapolis, and it thrives today, thanks to the amazing people and programs here at Ball State.
Hired here in 2014 as senior media strategist, Lisa then moved into her current role in 2015 and in partnership with the associate vice president, leads Marketing and Communications’ content strategists, and magazine and social media teams.
Whether it’s long-form pieces about complicated subjects, magazine profiles, or video, photo or social media packages, she partners with experts across the division and the university to match the story to the most effective media.
After-hours, Lisa finds ways to survive the new tortures dreamed up by her bootcamp coach, is a news and politics junkie, and loves to read. She’s also a proud dog mom, with a soft heart for the “problem children” that others won’t adopt. Yes, her rescue pups Beckham and Nessa have torn some siding off the house, but honestly, that siding had it coming.
