Visitor Permit
A free visitor permit is available to anyone who is not a current student or employee. Visitor permits are issued for a specific lot or zoned area. Students may not request a permit for their visitor. To request a permit, the visitor must bring the following items to the Office of Parking Services:
- Driver's license
- License plate number and expiration date
- Vehicle make, color, and year
- Length of visit
If you need handicap parking accommodations, please bring the certification sheet for your state issued placard or the vehicle registration for your handicap license plate.
Visitors may not register a vehicle that belongs to a student or employee. Students or employees using a visitor permit will be cited for Improper Registration and have their parking privileges revoked.
University Departments
University departments may request visitor permits for guest speakers, groups, events, or other visitors to their department. Requests may be made by calling 285-1208 or emailing parking@bsu.edu. The following information is required to request visitor permits for your department:

Departments may request visitor permits for yellow/green lots, R2, R4, R5, or R11. We do not issue free visitor permits for the parking garages. If you would like a permit for a parking garage, you may purchase a pre-paid permit for your visitor. Parking Services reserves a small number of spaces for visitor permits in restricted lots per day. Lot assignment is based on availability.
Large requests require advance notice. Please allow at least 48 hours advance notice for orders of 20 or more permits.
We will not mail orders of 20 or more permits. They will need to be picked up at the Office of Parking Services.
