Biographical Information Chief Burton graduated from Ball State University in 1980 with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. He joined Ball State University Police Department in February of 1980. He is the director of public safety and chief of police. He is married and has three children. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities especially biking and hiking.
