Red White and Blue Sunday 2012

Three Ball State University Police Offers were honored at the Red White and Blue Sunday at Grace Baptist Church. Sargent David Bell, Officer Mark Workman and Officer David Barnes were among the honorees for their outstanding service to the Ball State University/Muncie community.

On Tuesday June 26, 2012 Officers received a call of a possible intoxicated driver leaving a local business on McGalliard Road. Officers located the vehicle near Ball State campus. Officers stopped the vehicle at Martin Street and North Street. The driver of the vehicle appeared to be disorientated, but there were no odor of alcohol. One of the officer noticed a medical alert bracelet and an ambulance was requested to the scene. A family member arrived at the stop and informed Officers that the driver’s behavior was not normal. The driver was transported to IU-BMH and it was determined that she was suffering from a stroke. Medical personnel were able to quickly treat her symptoms and minimize the long-term effect of a stroke.
