Thomas C. Bracken was appointed to Ball State’s Board of Trustees in 2012. He is a software engineer and the owner of Auto Build Assemblies, a certified integrator for Intuit Corporation’s Quickbooks small business accounting program.
Previously, Bracken was the owner of the Wells Street Athletic Club in Chicago and an electrical project engineer at Mid-West Automation Systems in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Stanford University and his master of business administration degree from the University of Chicago.
Bracken is the fourth generation of the Ball family to serve on the Board of Trustees since the university’s founding. He succeeded his father, Indianapolis attorney Frank Bracken, who served on the board for 31 years and for whom Ball State’s Administration Building was named in 2010. Other family members on the board have included Thomas Bracken’s grandfather, Alexander Bracken; his great-grandfather, Frank C. Ball; and his great-great uncle, George A. Ball. Frank C. Ball and George A. Ball were among the five brothers who founded Ball State. Bracken lives in Muncie.
