Summer Commencement 2014
Saturday, July 19, 2014
Ceremony, 10:00 a.m., Worthen Arena
Tickets are not required to attend the ceremony.
There is one commencement ceremony in July. This ceremony, honoring students who have completed their degree requirements by the end of the second summer session, takes place in the 11,500-seat Worthen Arena.
Ball State University is made up of seven colleges. All graduate students sit as a group. Undergraduate students sit with the college of their major, and cross the stage as they are individually recognized.
The student processional onto the Arena Floor begins at 9:40 a.m. and the ceremony, which will last approximately two hours, begins at 10:00 a.m.
All graduate and undergraduate students who are eligible to participate in the ceremony must indicate their participation choice (yes or no) on their graduation application. Changes to participation plans should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ceremony participants must also wear appropriate regalia. The Ball State Bookstore in the Art and Journalism Building has caps and gowns in stock. If you are not on campus, bookstore employees are happy to take your order by phone and ship it to you. They can also help you with class rings, announcements and diploma frames. Ball State Bookstore's phone number is 765-285-8080.
Photos taken at commencement will be available for purchase for a few weeks at Grad Images.
Doctoral diplomas are presented at the ceremony. Diplomas for all other students will be mailed 4-8 weeks after commencement to all students, regardless of ceremony participation.
