Scholastic Standards
Academic Probation: A student will be placed on academic probation when the accumulative grade-point average is less than 2.0, and will be notified of probationary status.
Academic Dismissal: Failure to meet the conditions in the following paragraphs will result in academic dismissal:
- If a student fails to earn a grade-point average of at least 1.0 during the first semester of attendance, the student may be dismissed.
- Anyone not achieving a 1.9 accumulative average after completing one semester of attendance must in the next semester at Ball State University earn 2.0 for that semester and each following semester until the accumulative average reaches 1.9.
- After completing 30 earned credits (transfer credit and other credit granted included) a student must in the next semester at Ball State earn a 2.1 for that semester and each following semester until the accumulated average reaches 2.0.
Transfer Students: The scholastic standards as stated above apply.
