Protect Yourself From Spam

If you receive a questionable e-mail do NOT reply.  The best thing to do is DELETE it.  Microsoft provides information on how to identify phishing e-mail and links.  In addition there are a number of Web sites that provide information on current spam, hoaxes and viruses on the internet.

You can find a great deal of information through the following sites.

  • Snopes - Top scams
  • Hoax-Slayer - Latest e-mail hoaxes
  • Scambusters - Identifies viruses, worms and spyware
  • F-Secure - Hoax Warnings

For more information on dealing with spam visit the Federal Trade Commission's Facts for Consumers.
