- Excellence in Leadership (EIL) is a multi-year leadership development program open to all undergraduate students. Composed of both curricular and co-curricular components, the program offers workshops, service projects, retreats, and small group meetings. Two graduate assistantships are available working with the Excellence in Leadership program.
- The Office of Student Life advises fraternities and sororities at Ball State University and offers two different types of Greek assistantships. The Greek council graduate advisor position requires the individual to oversee and advise the operations and activities of a Greek council at Ball State. The fraternity graduate advisor position requires the individual to live in the chapter facility, oversee and advise the operations and activities of a fraternity chapter at Ball State.
- The Student Life office advises the Asian American Student Association, the Black Student Association, the Latino Student Union, and Spectrum. Two multicultural graduate assistants are responsible for co-advising these organizations and its executive officers as well as providing support to the Office of Student Life. In addition to working with multicultural organizations, GAs in this area will advise Up Til Dawn, an organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and Order of Omega, a Greek honorary organization.
- Student Voluntary Services (SVS) at Ball State University is one of the oldest student-lead volunteer organizations in the country. Founded in 1965, SVS has a long history within the university and as a result, Ball State students have a rich tradition of giving back to the Muncie community. The SVS graduate assistant is primarily responsible for co-advising SVS and its executive officers, as well as providing general support to the Office of Student Life. The GA serves as a liaison for Muncie community agencies, advises student-led programs, and assists with volunteer recruitment, orientation, and placement. The position requires the GA to work in a multi-faceted office environment as well as interact with students, faculty, and community members.
