Working Well offers a variety of programs that help faculty and staff get and stay healthy—mentally, physically, and emotionally.
The Health, Alcohol, and Drug Education office offers free smoking cessation classes for students.
Ball State’s tobacco-free health-insurance premium discount provides a financial incentive to employees to maintain or begin a healthy lifestyle. A $900 annual tobacco-free premium discount (prorated to a per pay amount) will be credited to employees who certify that they and their covered dependents have been tobacco-free for at least six months. About 76 percent of Ball State employees take advantage of this discount.
The Indiana Tobacco Quitline is an evidence-based, telephone counseling service offering free cessation support and assistance to tobacco users in quitting tobacco for life.

The toll-free Indiana Tobacco Quitline, 800-QUIT-NOW (800-784-8669), is available seven days a week in more than 170 languages and for the hearing impaired (877-777-6534).

A free Quit Now Indiana online tool can be completed on your timeline in eight weeks or longer depending on your desire to quit. The program includes 12 chapters and approximately four quizzes to guide you through a comprehensive cessation program. This service is available 24 hours a day. Students and employees (and their family members) may register confidentially by e-mailing email@example.com. You will receive an e-mail with a password that will allow you to get stated with program.
Quit Now Indiana offers two new services:
Web Coach® and Text2Quit®. These
user-friendly features are designed to give you the support needed throughout
the quitting process. Web Coach® and Text2Quit® will empower
you to take control of your tobacco addiction and successfully quit for life.
Web Coach® — Tobacco users get
access to a private, online community where you can complete activities, watch
videos, track your progress, and join in discussions with others in the
program. There are over 25,000 active members.

Through Text2Quit, tobacco users can sign up to receive a series of text messages that are personalized to their quit plans. This service enables participants to use their mobile phones to connect with their quit coach and interact with the web coach. Furthermore, Text2Quit facilitates tobacco users in using medications correctly, managing urges, and avoiding relapses.
