Web Site Development Process
Our Web development process begins with a discovery meeting. This meeting helps us learn more about your needs, gives you a chance to ask questions, and gives us the information we need to begin our work together.
Our overall process is designed to:
- align with the strategic goals and objectives of the university
- address the needs of your Web audience
- meet your unit's communication goals
Below are the five key steps of the process:
Phase 1: Discovery
- Discuss goals and objectives for the website
- Inventory/review existing content
- Review competitors and/or aspirant programs
Phase 2: Planning
- Information architecture
- Web strategy
- Production schedule
Phase 3: Creating
- Content
- Design
- Photography
Phase 4: Building and launching
Phase 5: Maintaining
- While individual units are responsible for keeping their sites up-to-date, University Marketing and Communications will continue to review websites and offer ongoing information and advice to assist website managers.
If you have questions, please e-mail Julie Tuttle Davis, associate director of Web development.
