Julie plans, leads, and executes the development of content, presentation, and brand experience for the entire university web environment. Her work supports the university’s strategic goals, marketing objectives, and positioning with key audiences. She has the skills and experience to research, develop, and implement comprehensive web strategies and maintenance plans.
A key leader and brand ambassador on the University Marketing and Communications (UMC) team, Julie directs the development of hundreds of websites within the bsu.edu environment. She also counsels university leadership on the next phases of web evolution for brand integration.
Julie leads a team of web professionals who work in partnership with campus departments to create effective and branded websites and electronic communications. The web development team works closely with UMC communications managers, graphic designers, and media relations managers to develop and implement websites that support university marketing objectives, elevate the brand, and integrate with other communications. In collaboration with the web solutions and technical architects, she also supports the effective functioning of Ball State's web content management system.
Since coming to work at Ball State in 2006, Julie has been involved in the successful relaunch of the Ball State website. Julie is responsible for the web brand and communications training that is a requirement for all web content contributors on campus. She also manages the institutional blogger program,
Experience Real Life at Ball State.
Julie has worked on higher education websites since 1999. Her work consistently receives local, national, and international awards and recognitions. She is a graduate of Ball State with a degree in English and earned an MBA from Anderson University.
