John has been a photographer for Ball State for more than 30 years. He served as a student photographer in Photographic Services while earning his degree in photojournalism and became a full-time staff photographer shortly after his graduation from Ball State.
He has served as the coordinator of Photographic Services since 2001. He has captured many photographs of the events, people and resources that have illustrated the rise of Ball State University into a prominent national university.
John has won many awards for his university photography and was named the National Photographer of the Year twice by the University Photographers Association of America. He was also awarded the university’s Meritorious Service Award in 1997.
John is also an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Technology where he teaches digital photography classes. He is married to the former Pamela Crabtree. The couple have two daughters, Emily and Jordan.
