2012 Challenge Grant

United Way has $200,000 available in challenge grants over the next two campaigns that may double the positive impact you have in the community. All contributions of $100 or more from new donors will be matched 100%.  Returning donors who contribute $100 to $499,will have the increased amount match 50%, while those who contribute $500 or more will have their increased amount matched 100%.   The matching grant funds from Indiana Association of United Ways for the Lilly Endowment will go to support the work of the Local Connection initiative helping underserved urban neighborhoods and rural communities have easier access to the systems of support available in the community at large.  Click on this link to read more about the Local Connection and how it is helping improve lives in Delaware County.

22% of Delaware County residents do not have health insurance.  Your minimum gift of $5/week can help to continue to ensure that youth are healthy and avoid risky behaviors, caregivers are supported and able to remain in the workplace, and provide health care coverage and preventative care.

Nearly 22% of all Indiana families are asset poor. Your minimum gift of $10/week can help meet our community goals of increasing income, building savings, and gaining and sustaining assets for families in Delaware County.

More than 40% of young people ages 8-21 say they want more adults in their lives who they can depend on for help. Your minimum gift of $15/week can help to continue to ensure that children enter school ready to succeed, children achieve academic goals and youth are productive and engaged citizens.

This year, the $100,000 challenge grant can make a tremendous difference, but it  will take everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future. We all win when children succeed in school, neighborhoods get turned around, families have good health and everyone has a solid job.
