Two major milestones were reached in January: both HR/Payroll and Financial Aid are now live in Banner. Both conversion teams completed their transition to the new systems with minimal issues, thanks to careful testing and attention to detail under the outstanding leadership of Marie Kavanagh and Melissa Shearer. Laura Means and the technical team provided outstanding support throughout the conversion and cutover processes.
Employee self-service is also live as a part of the HR/Payroll transition. Outstanding Luminus issues are being addressed, with the portal go-live date rescheduled for mid-February.
The Student Team continues their work with configuration, testing, and data conversion. The second round of simulated registration testing is scheduled for the week of February 6, with the third and final round of testing the week of February 27. Student data will be migrated into Banner in phases beginning with the creation of General Learner records from legacy data this week, followed by academic history data in early March.
Student Team (Admissions): Processes are being refined, additional applications are being loaded, credentials to access Applicant SSB are being supplied and used, and applicants are being admitted. Transfer applications are now in the queue.
Student Team (Financial Aid): The SFA office staff went live with very few issues. The smooth transition is a testament to excellent leadership from Melissa and Jim, with great support from David and other staff members. We expect to see 2012-13 financial aid applicants checking their status and accepting FA awards via student SSB in mid-February.
Student Team (Academic History): Conversion and validation work is ongoing. Substantial progress was made recently with test conversion of general student records, positioning the team for migration of those elements to production later this week. Work on academic history (courses and related elements) continues as the team drives toward the migration target in early March.
Student Team (DegreeWorks): The coding of the current catalog into DegreeWorks (“scribing”) has begun. DegreeWorks needs to go live in mid-October for Spring 2013 advising.
Finance Team: Work has started to implement post-award grants management in Banner, including conversion of active grants information. The scheduled completion date is April.
