Summary

The team reached another milestone with the launch of the Luminis portal and Student Self-Service Banner (SSB) for financial aid. All students have been notified regarding the availability of the new financial aid tool. The launch was possible only because of the determined efforts of many team members to find real solutions to a number of complex issues.

Other details

Student Team (Financial Aid and Luminis): The Office of Scholarships and Financial sent e-mails with Luminis log-in instructions to students on February 29. Recipients began using the system almost immediately, and no significant issues have been reported. Financial aid applicants for 2012-13 are now checking their statuses and accepting awards via Luminis and Student SSB.

Student Team (Catalog/Schedule and Registration): Training for advisors is under way, and the fall 2012 schedule of available courses should be available in Banner in mid-March. Advisors, registrar staff outside the project team, and students were engaged in registration testing the past few weeks. The registrar’s office is coordinating and managing the third and final simulated test cycle for registration, which started March 5.

Student Team (Academic History): Migration of general student and advisor records was completed with few complications. An aggressive schedule is in place for three rounds of conversion and validation of academic history (courses and related items), in order to successfully complete the migration prior to opening registration for the fall semester.

Student Team (DegreeWorks): DegreeWorks is the new degree auditing system that will replace the DAPR. The team is scheduling consulting and training sessions to support the planned release in mid-October 2012 for spring 2013 advising.
