  • U.S. News & World Report ranked Ball State eighth among “up-and-coming” colleges and universities in 2011, placing us among institutions “that recently made the most promising and innovative changes in the areas of academics, faculty, student life, campus, or facilities."
  • Ball State’s classification within the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching rose to research university, high research activity (RU/H) in 2011.
  • The Chronicle of Higher Education in 2010 ranked Ball State sixth in the nation for improvement in graduation rates among public research institutions between 2001 and 2008.
  • The Princeton Review’s Guide to 311 Green Colleges: 2011 Edition recognized Ball State as the only public institution in Indiana to be listed among the most environmentally responsible colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Ball State’s first-year programs were recognized by U.S. News & World Report for the eighth year in a row.
  • U.S. News & World Report in 2011 listed Military 2 Market (M2M), part of our entrepreneurship program, first among “10 College Classes That Impact the Outside World,” putting us in the same company as Villanova and Carnegie Mellon universities.
  • Ball State has been named one of the best universities in the Midwest by The Princeton Review for seven years. U.S. News & World Report has ranked our entrepreneurship program among the top 15 since 1999.
  • Ball State students and faculty have won 33 Emmy Awards along with 103 regional Emmy nominations.
  • Sports Link, an immersive learning program that has produced content for Fox College Sports and March Madness on Demand, has won multiple Emmy Awards and a 2011 College Sports Media Award.
