Insight and Research's home base is in Muncie, Indiana at Ball State University. Muncie, also known as Middletown because of its propensity to serve as a barometer for social change in the United States, has a rich history as a test bed for social research.

Insight and Research Command Center Insight and Research is headquartered on campus at Ball State University in the Ball Communications building, amidst the flurry of student and faculty activity. Although we are not a teaching unit, our on-campus facilitates allow us to conduct usability research, eye tracking and concept testing for commercial clients with collaboration from students and faculty as appropriate.

CMD Insight and Research Lab Just off campus in Muncie, the Insight and Research Media Lab is designed as a naturalistic living space in which interactive TV and advanced design usability research can be conducted. The lab is a standard house with two living rooms, home office, kitchen and dining area, converted into a facility for concept testing, usability studies, focus groups and interviews. Researchers use a variety of methodologies, including our eye tracking on the 10-foot, 2-foot, and mobile platforms. Thanks to our collaboration with OEDN as part of their Academic Outreach Program and donations from S&T, and ADB, the lab is also now fully equipped to function as a closed-loop environment for the development, deployment and consumer-testing of iTV applications. Unique among universities in the US, the completion of this testbed environment represents the next level in our work with industry partners to inform the debate around consumers and interactive content.
