- Ball State is one of only 21 schools to make the Princeton Review's 2017 Green Honor Roll. Princeton Review tallied scores for 640 colleges.
- Ball State is one of the 353 most environmentally responsible colleges according to The Princeton Review. The education services company known for its test prep and tutoring services, books, and college rankings features Ball State in the 2015 edition of its free book, The Princeton Review Guide to 353 Green Colleges.
The Princeton Review chose the schools for this sixth annual edition of its "green guide" based on data from the company's 2014 survey of hundreds of four-year colleges concerning the schools' commitments to the environment and sustainability. Ball State also made The Princeton Review's new "Top 50 Green Colleges" ranking list in the guide.
- Progressing Campus Sustainability: Ball State University joins the International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN). The ISCN provides a global forum to support leading colleges, universities, and corporate campuses in the exchange of information, ideas, and best practices for achieving sustainable campus operations and integrating sustainability in research and teaching.
- Presidential Voices Interview Series: Jo Ann M. Gora, Ball State University. AASHE's "Presidential Voices" interview series features conversations with heads of higher education institutions who are inspiring sustainability leaders.

- BSU receives the first (2012) Excellence in Integration Award from the International Sustainable Campus Network.
- Princeton Review Released its 2012 Guide to Green Colleges. The resource profiles 322 higher education institutions that demonstrate notable commitments to sustainability. Ball State University is profiled on page 36 of the guide.
