A Taste of Calligraphy
Instructor: Paula Sullivan
Friday, April 26, 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Cost: $50 (includes lunch)
Learn the basic calligraphy lettering style of italics, which gives you the foundation and knowledge to use several letter styles (Celtic, Old English, and etc.). Course is taught by Muncie native, Paula Sullivan, who has been a lettering artist for more than 32 years. A calligraphy pen with a fine, medium, and broad tip will be needed (Note: Instructor recommends a Sheaffer brand pen sold at most Hobby Lobby or Staples stores.)

Class is open to anyone who has had some experience with calligraphy or has taken a beginning calligraphy class. Course is taught by Muncie native, Paula Sullivan, who has been a lettering artist for more than 32 years. Bring the calligraphy pen of your choice. If you need to purchase one, the instructor recommends a Sheaffer brand.

Dancing with a Brush

Friday, April 19, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Cost: $50 (includes luncheon)
Ann Johnson, former owner of F.B.Fogg, offers a three-hour mosaic of learning how to handle a paint brush, watercolors, and techniques that are bound to inspire the novice as well as the advanced painter. Comfortable in handling paint and understanding various degrees of wet paper and how to mix colors will lead participants to creations of your own “masterpieces” not thought possible. Fluidity transparencies, textures, shapes, colors, wet n wet washes, mixing mediums and the use of alternate tools will be covered.  A minimal supply list will be furnished upon request.  Come create your own “masterpiece,” enjoy lunch and dialogue with like-minded souls and release your painting inhibitions as you “dance with your brush.”

Painting Plein-ly and Loving the Experience

Cost: $50 (includes luncheon)
There is something about painting outside, looking at a spectacular landscape, all the wonders of the world, the sky, trees, water…..everything is dimensional, not flat.  Everything is alive and your painting will be also!  That is why the old masters were masters capturing not only what they saw, but the feel of it  COME JOIN US FOR A DAY ON THE PORCH at E. B Ball and enjoy painting outside. We will learn how to paint not all of what we see, AND WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU, what we want our viewers to see, how to layout, sketch and begin an oil painting, mix colors and layer paints. Have lunch and dialogue with fellow artists, and finish a work of art. 

Summer Songs

Thursdays, May Starting Date to be Announced, 7-9 p.m. 
Cost: $125
The class is for men and women who have always wanted to have their moment in the spotlight. Basham will be joined by his singing partner of twenty-five years, Rebecca Bly. Together they will prepare their students for a premier performance at Vera Mae’s Bistro on July 4. The class will be limited to the first twelve paid enrollments. Refunds are not given after one week prior to course start date. No experience is necessary; however, course does not include vocal instructions for beginners.
