Building a future for 3-D technology beyond the world of gaming has become John Fillwalk's calling. As senior director of Ball State's Hybrid Design Technologies, Fillwalk leads a campus initiative to design and produce virtual, immersive, and interactive environments that can serve as innovative solutions for clients—be they art museums or students in the classroom.
His international reputation has been critical in securing hybrid design work for the university's Institute for Digital Intermedia Arts (IDIA), from development of a virtual events program for the Eli and Edythe Broad Museum at Michigan State University to a large-scale virtual re-creation of an ancient Roman villa. Fillwalk's acclaimed career in the electronic fine arts coupled with his extensive knowledge of virtual worlds make him a true digital innovator.
