Founded in 1983 by Dr. Donald F. Kuratko, BSU's Entrepreneurship Center was among the first programs to focus on an undergraduate entrepreneurship degree in the country. We have a long tradition of excellence in entrepreneurship education and often featured in various media outlets as a top ranked program.

In 1997, the program acquired an existing nonprofit entrepreneurial organization, which led to the establishment of the Midwest Entrepreneurial Education Center (MEEC). Operating under MEEC, the center built an outreach program that enabled the faculty, staff, and students to work with the State of Indiana, Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, and growing entrepreneurial companies. In 2005, the center was rebranded as the Ball State University Entrepreneurship Center.
