Founded in 1983, Ball State University's Entrepreneurship Center was one of the first programs to focus on an undergraduate entrepreneurship degree in the country. With its long tradition of excellence in education, research, and service, it is no wonder the center has been featured in various media outlets as a top ranked programs.
In 1997, the program acquired an existing nonprofit entrepreneurial organization, which led to the establishment of the Midwest Entrepreneurial Education Center (MEEC). Operating under MEEC, the center built an outreach program that enabled the faculty, staff, and students to work with the State of Indiana, Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, and growing entrepreneurial companies. In 2005, the center was rebranded as the Ball State University Entrepreneurship Center.
