Site Visits and Guest Speakers

An important aspect of your education is gaining exposure to the real world. Two ways that you will accomplish this as an entrepreneurial management major is through site visits to companies and through guest speakers brought into class.

Site Visits

You will visit several business throughout the two years of your major to see how different companies conduct their daily business and plan for the future. One of the companies that you will visit is Paws Inc.

Paws Inc. CEO Jim Davis is known worldwide as the creator of everybody's favorite lasagna-loving, Monday-hating cat, Garfield. Our students get the rare opportunity to visit with Jim Davis himself at the Paws Inc. headquarters located just outside of Muncie.

You will learn what it took to build a multi-million dollar business from a simple idea and what the company continues to focus on in order to stay at the top.

Guest Speakers

Throughout the year, we will bring in entrepreneurs, business experts, and other fascinating people as guest speakers. You will have the opportunity to pitch your idea to our speakers and have one-on-one time with some of the most successful people in the country.

One of the guests who has visited in the past is Kevin Lansberry, chief financial officer of domestic parks and resorts at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Kevin told his incredible story of success and gave each of our students feedback and advice on their specific projects.

This outside feedback and insights are invaluable as you get a different perspective that might just give you the breakthrough you've been waiting for.
