BSU Regional Sales Competition

The 2014 Ball State University Regional Sales Competition will take place on Friday, October 10, 2014 at the L.A. Pittenger Student Center.

  • Spacious venue: The Student Center offers hotel accommodations, Starbuck's, an on-campus bowling alley, and more providing a spacious, more convenient experience for the student competitors and all industry recruiters participating. 
  • Competing Universities: Ball State University, Baylor University, Bowling Green State University, Central Michigan University, Indiana University, Middle Tennessee State University, Purdue University, University of Cincinnati and University of Toledo.
  • 4 corporate participation levels all receive resumes from each competitor as well as:
    •   Executive: Sponsor either the Pizza Party the night before or the Luncheon the day of the competition. Bring up to 5 company representatives. Participate in the Speed Selling and Networking events immediately after role plays conclude. Stay for the awards ceremony- optional. This level is sold out.
    • Diamond: Sponsor either the Awards or the Hotel accommodations for all competitors and coaches. Bring up to 5 company representatives. Participate in the Speed Selling and Networking events immediately after role plays conclude. Stay for the awards ceremony- optional.     • Platinum: Bring up to 3 company representatives. Participate in the Speed Selling and Networking events immediately after role plays conclude. Stay for the awards ceremony- optional. View sponsorship details or send an email regarding the Platinum Level. 
    • Gold (Introductory): One company representative allowed. Participate as a Judge in one of the Judging rooms with the opportunity to debrief competitors immediately after their role play.   • Networking opportunities: Executive, Diamond, and Platinum levels participate in the Speed Selling event and Networking Fair immediately following the conclusion of the role plays.  

Sponsorships provide the financial assistance to traveling teams for hotel accommodations, meals, and awards. Sponsorship levels will be available on June 10, 2014. The agenda and scenario will be posted in August 2014. Check back later!

Students compete in mock sales calls and are judged by salespeople and sales managers from industry. Although it is a competition, the primary purpose of this event is to help you and your fellow students better develop your sales skills. Unlike any other competition, students receive immediate feedback from sales professionals regarding their performance in the mock sales call. Both students and industry participants find this event extremely rewarding.
