Communication: Announcements

Announcements are a tool to notify your students via email of schedule changes, important due dates and answer common questions. Sending out an announcement to your students is an eary way to notify them and to include a permanent copy within your Blackboard course site.  Announcements can also be scheduled to appear on a specific date.

How do I use announcements?

Announcements appear in the course "Home Page" or a link can be added directly to your course menu.  Creating an announcement is an easy because you have all the functionality of the text editor.  You can copy and paste from Word, add video, links to websites, as well as utilize editing tools that you are used to in word processing programs such as Word or Pages.  These communications can stay in the course for the student to see next time they log into Blackboard.  The announcement can also be sent immediately to your students' BSU email accounts.
