Clean out your closet- Keep old shoes out of landfills- Save lives!

875 million people live without access to clean water today. Without clean water, disease spreads more rapidly. In fact, 80% of all sickness in the world is attributable to unsafe water and sanitation. Donate your old shoes to WaterStep, an international accredited nonprofit organization that empowers volunteers and humanitarian professionals with the ability to assist communities with sustainable water solutions.

By donating your new and gently used shoes to WaterStep, you’ll help fund safe drinking water projects all over the world- projects that help to save hundreds of thousands of lives each year. In addition to funding water projects, donated shoes keep hundreds of tons of waste out of our landfills. We accept all types of shoes from high heels to high tops. Shoes that can be re-worn are sold to an exporter and funds received help bring clean water to those in need. Shoes that cannot be re-worn will be recycled.

A collection bin will be located at the WaterStep table inside the Muncie Fieldhouse at the Relay for Nonviolence. Forget your shoes? Visit our other locations, listed on our Facebook page
