The Center for International Development received a grant for $44,306 from the U.S. Department of State to organize a conference in Washington, DC, for the four universities that have partnerships with Schools of Journalism at Afghan universities. The other three are the University of Arizona, San Jose State University and the University of Nebraska-Omaha. The conference will take place February 2 and 3 at the State Plaza Hotel, across the street from the main State Department building. Senior officials from the Department of State are expected to attend. Each U.S. university has received a $1 million grant from the State Department’s Bureau of Public Affairs. The purpose of the conference is to initiate coordination.
