Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program

We are very excited that you are participating in the Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program (IYLEP) at Ball State University. We will do our best to make the experience memorable and rewarding. We have created this website to serve as a resource for any questions that you may have but also encourage you to contact us at any point. We are grateful to be your host university and look forward to your arrival!

About Our Program

The Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange program at Ball State University will provide the environment and resources for you to develop leadership skills and learn about American culture. While at Ball State University, you will gain a greater understanding of the major principles defining America including individual rights, democracy, freedom of expression, religious toleration, equality of opportunity, and diversity. You will have opportunities to interact with Indiana citizens (“Hoosiers”) and students from a variety of backgrounds and to make presentations about Iraq to local community groups.

The program is being managed by the Center for International Development and Center for Peace and Conflict Studies at Ball State University.  We strive to create a program that allows you to develop your entrepreneurial spirit and equip you with the skills needed to make an impact in your community.

IYLEP is sponsored and funded by the U.S. Embassy, Baghdad, U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Youth Programs Division. The program is administered by Meridian International.
