To our Ball State students:
As you might know, there have been recent developments regarding immigration. As we work together to understand these events, we are aware of the concern this might cause our Ball State community.
It is important to restate that we are committed to our inclusive environment and remain very supportive of all of our students, especially international students who might feel particularly vulnerable at this time. We will continue to closely follow developments and provide appropriate support and assistance.
This new travel ban goes into effect on October 18, 2017 placing certain restrictions on varying degrees on citizens from 8 nations: Chad, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Syria, Yemen, and Venezuela.
As written, the travel ban does not affect the travel of international students who have already been admitted to a U.S. college or university and have a valid F-1 or J-1 student visa.
BSU students who are nationals of any country outside of the U.S. who have questions about international travel should meet with an international Student Advisor at International Student Services in the Rinker Center for International Programs. Please contact the Rinker Center for International Programs at 765-285-5422 or email us firstname.lastname@example.org
