The Writing Center at Ball State is where students, faculty, and staff turn for writing support. Since 1959, we have helped thousands of Ball State writers through feedback sessions, workshops, presentations, writing communities, studio space, and online resources for writers.
Our main center in Robert Bell 295 is the place for you when you need help getting a writing project started or are ready for feedback on your writing. We have appointments
for face-to-face, online, individual, or group sessions. Members of the Ball State community can have two free 50-minute appointments each week.
Our Digital Writing Studio in Robert Bell 116 is for working on digital writing projects (like presentations, websites, videos, podcasts, infographics, or digital posters). Ball State students, faculty, and staff can reserve a working space in the studio where a tutor is always on-hand to answer questions, offer feedback, and troubleshoot technology.
The Writing Center offers workshops and presentations upon request for specific classes, degree programs, resident halls, faculty members, or student groups. Additionally, we host weekly writing communities for creative writers, graduate students, and faculty who want time to share writing or to get writing done.
When we’re not open or when you’re not on campus, you can still use our writing resources and connect with us on social media: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.
