The Writing Center is where students, faculty, and staff at Ball State turn for writing support. Since 1966, we have helped thousands of Ball State writers through free one-to-one feedback sessions, workshops, presentations, writing communities, and online resources for writers.
If you are working on a writing project and are looking for individualized feedback, learn how to make an appointment for a free one-to-one tutoring session. Students may meet their tutor in Robert Bell 291 or online for their sessions.
We also answer questions by phone (765-285-8387) or by email during our regular hours. Students, faculty, and staff use this service to consult on issues of punctuation, grammar, usage, and citation in addition to other questions that come up while writing. During off-hours, you might find the answers you need in our writing resources.
Beyond one-to-one help, the Writing Center also custom builds workshops, programs, and presentations upon request for specific classes, degree programs, resident halls, faculty members, or student groups. Additionally, for those writers looking for a quiet time and place to write among other writers, we have created writing communities.
You can also find us on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and GTalk (bsuwritingcenter).
