Saturday Art Classes

Spring 2015

Journeys & Dreams  is our theme for this Spring. Each grade level will be exploring that idea with units of their own design! Around the World, theatre costume design, and artists who deliberately borrow from other arts and art styles are some of the topics.

Fees are $35 for the first child enrolled and $25 for any other enrolled siblings. This includes all the materials needed for the classes. Classes are grouped by grade levels. All classes are taught by Art Education majors and supervised by Dr. Mary Carter.

Classes are held on seven (7) Saturday mornings, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., Feb. 14 – Apr. 11 (no classes on 2/28 and 3/7) in the Art & Journalism Building at Ball State University. Open to any child, grades 1-6 (sorry, but we cannot accept Kindergarten students). Each class is limited to 18 students. Pre-registration is recommended if you want to ensure your child’s enrollment. This is not required for enrollment, but if the class fills, it will be closed to additional students. Please note: I am filling classes as I am receiving the paid registrations.

 2 ways to register!

PRE-REGISTER. There are 18 places in every class, but this guarantees your child’s place in a class. Mail or hand-deliver a completed registration form with payment, postmarked by Sat., Feb. 7 (this deadline is ONLY if you wish to pre-register). Registrations can still be hand-delivered to our office -- AJ 401 -- before 2/14. On Feb. 14, come to the registration tables in the Atrium of the Art Journalism Building (outside the bookstore) to get your child’s teacher and classroom assignment.

  WALK-IN REGISTRATION on Feb. 14, 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.
in the Atrium of the Art Journalism Building (outside the bookstore). The first class begins at 9:30 a.m. that day.  ***NOTE: There is NO guarantee of your child’s placement if the class is already completely filled.

NOTE: Unfortunately, there is no parking in our lot next to the building because of construction, but there are other lots nearby which are available and free on Saturdays.
