Undergraduate Glass Courses

ACR 231 - Glass 1
Introduction to studio glass, history, and practice. Emphasis on beginning techniques of blown glass and cold working processes. Prerequisite: ADS 102; AFA 202. Open only to art majors.
ACR 332 - Glass 2
Intermediate techniques of blown glass and cold glass fabrication, and introduction to studio equipment maintenance. Prerequisite: ACR 231. Open only to art majors.
ACR 333 - Glass 3
Introduction to mold making and cast glass techniques. Prerequisite: ACR 231. Open only to art majors.
ACR 334 - Glass 4
Advanced level blown glass and production techniques. Prerequisite: ACR 332. Open only to art majors.
ACR 335 - Glass 5
Advanced level cast glass and cold glass fabrication. Prerequisite: ACR 332, 333. Open only to art majors.
ACR 436 - Glass: Advanced Problems 1
Supervised individual studio techniques and studio equipment fabrication. Prerequisite: ACR 334, 335. Open only to art majors.
ACR 437 - Glass: Advanced Problems 2
Supervised individual studio research and practice in preparation for Senior Project. Prerequisite: ACR 436. Open only to art majors.
ACR 438 - Glass: Senior Project
Synthesis and culmination of studio experiences in glass culminating in an exhibition of work. Documentation of work, resume, and artist statement. Prerequisite: ACR 437, 21 credit hours in glass, sponsorship by the glass faculty, permission of the department chairperson. Open only to art majors.
Graduate Glass Courses

ACR 531 - Advanced Glass (3-6hrs)
Advanced graduate level study in studio glass. Prerequisite: Permission of the department chairperson. A total of 12 hours of credit may be earned, but no more than 6 in any one semester or term. Open only to accepted MA program students.
ACR 631 - Glass Studio (6-12hrs)
Graduate supervised, time-intensive graduate level problems in glass defining aesthetic and technical directions for the professional artist. Bi-weekly meetings and exhibition of artwork required for final assessment. Prerequisite: ACR 531 (6 total hours); permission of the department chairperson. A total of 21 hours of credit may be earned, but no more than 12 in any one semester or term. Open only to accepted MFA program students.
