In addition to the University Core Curriculum and the core course you are required to take as a biology student, you can choose courses from the list below for your general biology degree. General Biology Concentration Courses: 18-24 credit hours 

Four elective courses at the 300-level or above in the following:

  • zoology (ZOOL)

Two elective courses with any of the following prefixes:

  • anatomy (ANAT)
  • anthropology (ANTH)
  • biology (BIO)

  • computer science (CS)
  • geography (GEOG)
  • geology (GEOL)
  • mathematical science (MATHS)
  • natural resources and environmental management (NREM)
  • physics (PHYCS)
  • Nutrition and Health Science (PHYSL and HSC, respectively)
  • psychological science (PSYSC)
  • zoology (ZOOL)

Courses taken to fulfill University Core Curriculum requirements and biology major requirements may not be used as electives in this category. Only courses designed primarily for students majoring in the respective departments may be used as electives in this category.
