Understanding the control of voluntary and reactive muscular responses in both neurotypically healthy and neurologically impaired individuals. Specific areas of emphasis include: 1) changes in postural control as a function of age and Parkinson’s disease, and 2) influence of whole body vibration on both voluntary and reactive motor responses in such areas as power production, reflexive responses and the influence of disease (e.g., Parkinson’s, Cerebral Palsy).
Sensory constraints, postural control and whole body vibration and muscle reflexes in older adults and patients with Parkinson's disease.
Effects of varied frequencies and amplitudes of whole body vibration on postural control.
