College of Architecture and Planning

Giving to CAP

The legacy of the College of Architecture and Planning is vast. The professional leadership our graduates have provided in our disciplines has led to substantial improvements of the built environment across Indiana and far beyond.

While student fees and state assistance have served as the principal providers of resources since the college started in 1966, we benefit greatly from the additional support of our graduates, stakeholders, and beneficiaries. Private support may come in the form of personal gifts, gifts through companies, stock transfers, and memorial remembrances.

You may contribute to the CAP general fund or your favorite program, including the departments of architecture, landscape architecture, and urban planning, as well as the programs of historic preservation and urban design. The college's centers and institutes can also be supported.

Specifically, the college needs private gifts to:

  • support student enrichment activities
  • bring practitioners to campus to interact with students and faculty
  • maintain up-to-date classroom instruction from faculty working closely with successful practitioners
  • use our building as a live working and teaching laboratory that demonstrates current design principles
  • support operations at the CAP Indianapolis Center, which benefits students, practicing professionals, and community organizations in Indiana’s capital city
  • establish new scholarship funds to support promising students
