Admission Requirements and How to Apply

Admission Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in any academic field from an institution that is accredited by its regional accrediting association
  • A cumulative baccalaureate grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale or a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in the later half of your baccalaureate. 

How to Apply

  • If you are seeking the Graduate Certificate, you must apply to Ball State’s Graduate School.  The graduate application fee is $50 and is an online application.
  • If you just want to take a class or two and do not intend on completing the full Graduate Certificate, you can be admitted as a "Non-Degree Student".  If you later wish to pursue the full Graduate Certificate, up to 9 credit hours taken as a Non-Degree student can be applied toward the certificate.  The graduate application fee is $50 and is an online application.

Next Steps

  • If you are a Ball State student taking courses on the main Muncie campus, once you submit your application and if you are accepted into the program, you may register for courses through the course request system as you would with any other program.
