Graduate Urban Regional Planning

Concentration Areas

Our master’s program values planning in the public interest that is holistic, physical, and effectively implemented, and there are three areas of concentration that reflect these values.

Sustainable and comprehensive planningcommunity and economic development, and a student-customized option are the three areas from which you may choose. Each of the areas requires 12 credits, which include a core course, a studio, and two elective courses particular to that area. With faculty approval, students may pursue a customized course of study such as international planning.  A capstone project also is typically included in the selected concentration area.
