Accomplished business executive and 1981 Ball State University alumnus Mark Holden and his wife, Debbie, generously gave to Ball State to establish the Holden Strategic Communications Center and launch the Unified Media Lab. Mr. Holden is a successful entrepreneur who has led some of the nation's largest logistics, distribution, and transportation related companies. Today he is CEO and a board member of A&R Logistics, an Illinois-based firm that provides over-the-road transportation, transloading, packaging, warehousing, and end-to-end outsourced transportation management.
Beyond his business, he is a member of the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and the Ball State University Foundation Board of Directors. He has also served on the boards of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. He received the President's Medal of Distinction from Ball State in 2013 and a Miller College of Business Award of Distinction in 2007.
Mr. and Mrs. Holden have four children. Their son Matt Holden completed a bachelor's degree in magazine journalism and creative writing at Ball State in 2012, and he is now a graduate assistant with Unified Student Media. Their sons Brian Holden and Kevin Holden attend Purdue University, and their daughter, Brooke Holden, is a student at Harrison High School.
