Science Day at the Fairgrounds

We have a history of community outreach and professional service. Most notable—and one of the most fun—is Science Day at the Fairgrounds, organized by faculty member Jason Ribblett and our Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society (SAACS).

Children enjoy a variety of hands-on chemistry activities such as Shrinky Dinks, home-made play dough, chromatography of inks, floating versus sinking fruits, whirlpools, and bending water.

Our turnouts are a success. One time, we had more than 300 children and their parents come to the Delaware County Fairgrounds.
