CICS Internetworking Academy

One of the many challenges you are likely to face in the real world is working in an environment with multiple vendors. That’s why the Center for Information and Communication Sciences (CICS) brings the real world to the campus through the CICS Internetworking Academy.

The Internetworking Academy is a vendor-neutral environment with a focus on the setup, management, and troubleshooting of multiple-vendor networks. Students, educators, and professionals take part in training on the principles of internetworking in a multivendor environment. The academy is supported by such firms as Cisco, Nortel, Sun Microsystems, AdTran, Fluke, and Panduit, among others.

The academy has ties to one of the world’s best-known programs for students of internetworking: The Cisco Networking Academy. Ball State is one of several Indiana Cisco Academy Training Center sites linked by a common mission as well as articulation agreements, which allow students to receive credit at Ball State, Ebbert Education Center, Elkhart Area Career Center, Indiana Business College, Indiana Institute of Technology, Purdue University Calumet, and Vincennes University
