Profile Dr. Hendricks has been at Ball State University since 1981. He has been department chair since 1997. Previous to his appointment at Ball State University, Dr. Hendricks served as a prison counselor. During his tenure at BSU, he was awarded a leave of absence to serve as chief with a police department. He has also held academic appointments at the University of Tennessee and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Dr. Hendricks has published 50 refereed articles and ten books (including multiple editions). He teaches Policing in American Society and a graduate course, Leadership in Criminal Justice.
