The Eryck Todd Heck Memorial Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student majoring in criminal justice and criminology. It provides financial support for students majoring in criminal justice at Ball State with at least a 3.0 grade point average. Preference is given to Allen County residents.
The scholarship honors Eryck Todd Heck, the first Allen County, Indiana, sheriff’s department officer killed in the line of duty. Heck, a five-year veteran of the department was killed Aug. 15, 1997, by a burglary suspect.
