Partnership Objective

The Ball State Computer Science Corporate Partners Program is designed to develop a close working relationship between member organizations and the Ball State University Computer Science Department.

Our program offers an environment in which business practitioners can work with faculty and students to address the latest challenges in computing and information technology. This cooperation can provide members access to faculty expertise and to students who may become summer interns and future employees.

Partnerships provide the Computer Science Department additional funds to support its mission in the areas of teaching, research, and public service. Through the generosity of our corporate partners, Ball State University is better positioned to attract and retain excellent faculty and accelerate its positive reputation in computer science. Join us as we strive together toward new levels of achievement!

Partnership Highlights

Members at either the contributor or partner level are given a point of contact within the Computer Science Department. Each member is asked to identify a representative within its organization to act as liaison to the department. Membership ensures a personal link designed to foster close communication and individualized service to member companies.

Companies are prominently identified as sponsors on the department's Web page, in displays within the Computer Science Department area, through participation in the Computer Science Colloquium Series, and through involvement with student organizations. Company representatives are encouraged to visit Ball State Computer Science research and teaching laboratories and meet with faculty.

Corporate partners have the opportunity to direct a team of software engineering students who develop a software project satisfying company requirements. Partners also may have representation on the Computer Science Department's Industrial Advisory Board. This board provides input to the department and the university on its research, education, and outreach initiatives.

The department sees this collaboration as vital as it strives to present programs that not only satisfy degree requirements, but also meet the needs of employers. Exclusive job fairs and student interview sessions also are available to Corporate Partners.
