This summer program
objectives are to educate high school students of all levels who have interest
in pursuing interior design at college level. The workshop is limited to 12 students.
We encourage you to apply early to ensure a place in the workshop.
Participation in this
workshop not only will assist the participants to make their final decision
before committing themselves to four years of rigorous study in these fields
but will also assist them to develop a portfolio, a required component of the
application in many accredited programs. In addition, we will waive an interior
design 3-credit hour program elective if you come to Ball State.
The Forum participants will attend Ball State University for
ten days of intensive training. This workshop is offered from Thursday June 28 to Saturday July 7, 2018. Participants will be staying in a BSU dormitory.
The total fee will be $1390.00 per participant and will cover housing
accommodation, three meals a day, snacks, a customized course book, drafting
supplies/tools, and transportation to field trips in Muncie and Indianapolis.
The Youth Summer Design Forum is an inclusive program and seeks to blend
tradition and innovation in creative learning, covering areas in:
- Applied Critical
- Exploration with
- 2D Dimensional
- 3D Dimensional
- Basic Drawing and
- Exposure to Color and
- Interior Environments
and Human Behavior
- The Legislature and
Activities outside of
the classroom allow for students to interact with each other and to learn more
about the Ball State campus. These activities include: an afternoon of
shopping, movie night, bowling night, and recreational facility use (swimming,
fitness rooms, tennis).
- Application with
$90.00 deposit. We begin accepting applications December 1, 2017.
- Second payment of
$650.00 is due on March 1st.
- Final payment of
$650.00 is due on May 1st.
