Certificate in Early Childhood Program Administration

During the formative early childhood years, children need a classroom that functions like a learning playground. But they also need educators who can manage to make these classrooms come alive and program administrators who can assist educators in creating these environments.

The Indiana Association for the Education of Young Children (IAEYC) has identified criteria necessary for administrators to create these early childhood programs. National accreditation organizations require early childhood program administrators to complete at least 9 credit hours, or a minimum of 144 clock hours, in the areas of administration, management, and leadership of early childhood education.

Our new graduate certificate in early childhood program administration provides the credential that administrators need and exceeds national standards since it is a 15-credit-hour program.

This certificate is a viable option if you direct an early childhood program in the public schools or a federally funded venture such as Head Start, or if you are considering opening a private pre-school program. 

Certificate courses are taught by doctorally prepared faculty of the Ball State Teachers College, which has become one of the most comprehensive and renowned colleges of education in the country.

Certificate course work can be completed in two or three semesters and applied to a master’s in elementary education (MAE).
